Adopting an Angel Light is a unique way to honor your loved ones and community. Your contribution helps the mission of the Angel Island Conservancy, which aims to bring students from Bay Area Title I schools to the island for enriching educational experiences. It will also help the Conservancy continue to protect the island’s natural and cultural resources so that future generations will learn from its unique habitat and history.
Funds from last year’s Angel Lights donations were used to upgrade park infrastructure and the visitor experience, including new picnic tables, grills, and an island webcam where viewers can see what’s happening on Angel Island.
This year’s Angel Lights fundraising goals include:
Ongoing scholarships for Title I Schools
It costs an average of $26.45 to bring a student to Angel Island. When Bay Area schools are ready to come back to Angel Island, we want to be there for them.
In 2021 we aim to launch the development of a self-guided natural history walking tour. On the tour, visitors will learn all about the island and its inhabitants, including the Angel Island Mole – a species found nowhere else in the world.
Upgrades to historic buildings
Quarters 10 is a restored historic building at Civil War-era Camp Reynolds, which houses the oldest buildings on the island. It needs new furnishings to ensure that it stays open for students and visitors.
All donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by the IRS.
If you would prefer to pay with a check, please mail to PO Box 866, Tiburon, CA 94920 and include your name, address and sentiment.
